What is the Clean Water Act? Let's delve into the status of rivers in the Philippines in light of the Philippine Clean Water Act of 2004. This Act serves as a crucial legal framework for protecting the country's water bodies, including rivers, from pollution originating from various land-based sources such as industries, agriculture, commercial establishments, and community/household activities.

By the Power of ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO.16, S. 2019

Under the directive of the President, an administrative order was issued to enhance our wave of capabilities. This involved the establishment of the Manila Bay Task Force, comprising additional agencies and utility providers. Together, we initiated action, executing a battle plan in three simultaneous phases. The primary objective was to enhance the water quality of Manila Bay, with a focus on critical stretches heavily affected by pollution. Within just a few months of concerted effort, significant and commendable results were achieved.
